Out there changing the tstat in the ZJ, boy our XJ's have it easy in so many ways it's not funny, while it has the 4.0L it's jammed in there in the front and the fan shroud makes it a MAJOR PIA to work on. I'm on my third try for this and out of gaskets, letting it sit for an hour or so and then I'll refill it. Gotta do something about that shroud like I did with the XJ where I removed the bottom and left the two tabs intact. Not gonna work with the ZJ, they attached %$##$%% tranny line to the shroud. Hope this works, it's getting really nipply out there and I don't want to take the TJ down to work but if it does not seal it's going to the shop. The old Tstat came out in pieces, no wonder it wasn't working :D :D
I guess I did have one advantage, at least it was light out....
Think I'll order a new shroud and see what I can do to make the top removable with some kind of brackets or something.

I %$%$$# HATED working in the snow and mud when I was active, nothing more miserable than putting a track back on a M113 or M2 at 30F, in a swamp while it was snowing.

I got the snow chains on my old tractor (1951 Ford 8N) and have it backed into the garage waiting for the first real storm. I heard we may get snow early this week and dam if I don't have to drive to Cheyenne monday night and drive back Tue night or Wendsday.

So which heep are you working on.

Your TJ, ZJ, XJ thing sounds like that scene from Good Morning Vietnam.

A couple of flurries in the air over the last couple of weeks, it all melted when it hit the ground. Some discussion of snow in the forecast this week.

I am still eagerly anticipating snow- Ilived in CA for five years and hated not having snow. I have a garage to work on the Woody in, so Damn the broken parts and bring on the snow already. It will make my 40 mile commute to work that much more fun. Hopefully the stupid people just drive into ditches instead of other cars though.

We got between 8 and 10 inches.
That's 20-25% of annual snowfall here.

It's 82 degrees outside right now, but they are saying we might get some snow on Thanksgiving day. I feel your pain, Rich, that's why I insist on having a garage in which to work.

I second that- after doing an engine change in the middle of winter without a garage I decided enough was enough- I must have a garage no matter where I live.

Thats what I was gonna say. Havent seen a good snow in almsot 3 years. And by good I mean anything more than half an inch.

Go figures, the winter I bought my Jeep is the winter the snow stopped.....
