Hey all,
I have some Tv shows on my DVR that I want to put on a DVD. I don't have a stand alone DVD recorder, just one on my PC. Is there a way to get the shows from my DVR to my PC to record it? Is there some sort of wireless gadget I can buy or do I have to use a DVD recorder?

What type of DVR do you have?
I have a TiVo wirelessly networked to my computer through a router.

It's a directv HD DVR. I was thinking about a router and might look into it. BTW, nice Jeep in your Sig pic.

Urf. From what I've heard, the DirecTV DVRs are pretty well closed pieces of hardware. I may be wrong..... It certainly is possible on other DVRs, Tivos in particular.

RCA to USB? You're talking about video capture. The RCA jack on the back of the DVR is pure video only at NTSC analog spec, aka composite. Woot.com had a device on sale the other day for $30 to do this.

You can capture it to a pc by either a tuner PCI card or USB tuner. If you are technically inclined you can pull the hard drive, pop it into your linux system, copy the shows to the linux hard drive, burn your DVD's and go from there.
WIth my replays I use a program called dvarchive, it's from sourceforge, it's java app that connects to the replay over the network from anywhere in the world and allows me to pull it or push one over or record or set the schedule, etc etc etc. It's a bit slow as the nic in the replays are only 10mb. Might want to poke around on sourceforge for any interesting projects going on, those people tend to get a bit annoyed about propriatary stuff like that so you never know what you might find, if the PVR has a network interface it CAN be gotten to :D :D :D
