Overhead Console

I recently acquired an overhead console from a ZJ, not sure what year, but a '94 or '95. The '98 I had offered info like MPG, DTE, etc. What I'd like to know is, does the '96 XJ, with OBDII offer the same info, or just what the older XJs could display. I have a '96 XJ OHC and harness as well that I could install, but if I can make it work, the ZJ OHC would be much cooler. Has anyone ever attempted this?

yeah, its a pita, iripped out the guts of the compass/temp display, made a filler panel, and made it into an overhead switch panel instead, looks like overhead console, just without compass display

The 96 only displays the temp and compass. The ZJ console wont even work in the XJ. Roof line is different, and the computers are inconpatable.
