overheating problem

ok i have a 90 xj last week and this week its been overheating sunday i was in the mcdonalds drive thru. i looked out my rear view mirror and saw white smoke (oh crap) stepped on the gas the engine sputtered bad jumped the curb speed off into the parking lot stopped put it into park poped the hood fluid pooring out from the cap. reved it up for about 30 secs the white smoke went away. put half a container of water in got home checked the oil, no water in it thermastat only a year old need some help:gonnablow

may still be cracked head, did you lose all your water? refill the cooling system and try to recreate the events and symptoms and calmly try to evaluate what's happening, what did the gauge indicate?

yes, calmly figure this out. we dont know the temp when it over heated... and we cant see where its leaking from so you're gonna have to do some work by your self.
