I swapped out TC's today and noticed the Speedo plug from my 231 didn't fit in my 242, thats fine... I'll try swappin it tommorow (got dark right as I finished)... Now... I drove to my brothers house (2 miles) and the sucker never left 1-2 gear.. 3500 RPM goin 35 (I guess 35.. Don't know, didnt have speedo)

Does the Speedo gear plug have anything to do with when the vehicle shifts?

Also, will the plug end on the TC swap from a 242 to a 231, as i don't recall where I put my old wire harness from the 242's org. jeep. to change the harness plug ends

(maybe this'll post on the 3rd try...)

No, the AW4 has it's own output shaft speed sensor. It's located on the drivers rear side under the xfr case shift bracket. If that's damaged or not connected, the tranny computer will think you're not moving and never upshift.
