Quick question looking for a and older XJ to beat on and found a 89' with
190,000 on the 4.0 and looks like it needs a rear main seal and a seal for the front ouput on the transfer case. Body is in good shape with a broken winshield and drivers side rear door window. PWR windows and locks all work as well as cold AC. Seems to run good but wants to idle low. Any suggestions? New to XJ's but love my 99' so far so I thought I would get another. Anything I should really look fo besides the elusive D44

Yes it's worth $600 but try to get him down to 500 just for fun.
-Take it for a drive, make sure the tranny shifts smoothly, that the 4wd works and that theres no major clunks coming from the engine.

the low idle is something that I dealt with in my 87, it's not a difficult fix, or wasn't for me. Just cleaned out the TB, the IAC apssage was all nastied up and halfway blocked with carbon.

What part of IA?

600 isn't bad. Look for Unibody rust, anything that's been around here probably has some.

I would offer less though.

4WD works fine and the rust wasn't as bad as I expected looks pretty solid. Oh and I'm picking it up today for $400
