hello all. just thought i'd drop a line and introduce myself. i'm going to be the noob that asks tons of questions over the next several months. i'm completely uninformed of the xj world. actually, this will be my first venture into the realm of 4x4 period. i'm currently looking for a 97-01 to pick up for around $5k or so. any and all help is appreciated as far as what to look out for. or if you know of any xj's for sale near charlotte, that would be great too. my goals aren't extreme at all. i'm looking to eventually put a 3"-4.5" lift and at most 32's, probably a stereo upgrade, & roof rack. this will serve as my daily driver and occassionally i'll hit the trails or camp out of it. anywho, i don't have pics yet obviously since i'm still looking, but wanted to introduce myself anyway.

-clint.

btw, here's what i'm coming from:

Saw a 98' in Clover this past weekend, 115k miles, 2"bb 30" a/t's, blue... $3800 I think was the price.

It was right off 321 inbetween Clover and York

Oh, welcome. From Clover org. but in G-boro/B-town now.

Shops as in terms of what? Working on them? Lifts and such?

For working on them, they really are simple enough to do on your own, worst case with the help of a buddy.

As for lifts and such, I bought a lot of my lift components from Tarheel 4WD on N. Tryon.....easy guys to deal with, and the prices for what I bought seemed very fair, and they know their lift stuff.
