What year are your components? I have a 1988 2wd AW4 that is rebuilt with low miles and rear driveshaft. The rear driveshaft and transmission are from a 1988 comanche 2wd. I am interested in trading. let me know.

um why would you want to do that? if u want a 2wd front axle just remove the u joints in the shafts and pull the inner shafts and just run the hubs thats what i have in mine right now :D

Reather get a 2wd tranny, I have a extra 4wd drive tranny if I decide I want 4wd again....
The less back there spinning dead, the more MPG/HP (Not much, but at least some) and the less to worry about...
That and give someone a chance to do a swap.

And how do you keep fluid in the differential? Stuff rags in the axle tubes?

So your not to far from Cullowhee/Ashville...
Maybe we can find a meet up place about halfway if that works for you..
Also, rear output seal (where Torque Convertor goes in) on the tranny is shot, I have the replacement, you just gotta put it in.
Tranny/TC has 113k org miles before engine blew so its great stuff.
You do have the torque convertor for it as well right?
