Lift installation problem

The RC4.5 lift on my 97 XJ is almost done. However, we have run into a serious snag. When putting the bolt in for the right rear leaf, the bolt (front bolt) just turns in the hole. My friend thinks its the threads are turning with the bolt or something. Does anybody know what it is or how to fix this. Thanks for any help.

cut through the frame rail. you may have to replace nut and bolt.

That's what I did and just replaced it with a longer grade 8 bolt to go all the through.

Does it have to be a longer bolt or will one that is the same length work

It can be the same length if you can get into the frame to hold the nut.

If you cut a thin hole about the size of a open end wrench in the pocket area below the nut, you can slip the wrench in there to hold the nut.Thats what i have done in the past.
