There's a '65 M-101 3/4 ton military trailer for sale nearby. Anyone familiar with these? Can my XJ tow this comfortably? From the pics, it looks pretty heavy. I've got a '99 XJ, 4.0, AW4, 3.55s, running 30' tires.

One of these bad boys? It won't be a problem.

That is not an M-101 3/4t. That 1/4 ton trailer would be a piece of cake.

The one you are looking at is pretty heavy and might be a bit much for "nice towing" IMHO.

This is an M101 Canadian 1/4 ton. From what i understand the American M101 was a 3/4 ton.

The Canadian M101 weighs in around 800lbs as compared to the American M100 or M416 1/4ton at around 500lbs.

From a military standpoint, the 3/4 ton trailers we had at morristown would only get pulled by the duce and a half or 5 ton, the blazers and gm pickups didn't like it either on the trips to ft dix and ft drum. We also would never pull the 1/4 ton trailer with either m113 or m577 becasue if it flipped over off road you would drag it upside down and not even know it..

That's what I thought. Too bad, it would have been perfect for all my camping gear. Thanks everyone.

DaveD912...PM me. I can hook you up with a 1/4ton trailer. Canadian or American.

I'm selling my 4x4 trailers.com trailer. (don't see their web site, may now be a collectors item)
Used it for two years before I started towing the XJ.
3500 lb axle, 30x9.5 on 15x7 rims 5 on 4.5 BC.
