Well since it seems like everybody interested is either in Ga or very close to it, what do we think about just planning a SE Chapter ride somewhere close to the GA/AL/TN line? I know there are a few threads about people going out to the trails but maybe if we can plan for say 2-3 weeks out, we can get a good group together?

Morris mountain,or a non-ride meet sounds good to me. I cant afford to go very far or i would just go to the flog. I also know a good spot in douglasville we could meet with some short easy trails nearby.

I'm in for any days except the weekend of the Flog, first time to Tellico and I can't wait! I've seen a few well built XJs around and look foward to meeting some of the family! I'm in the Doraville area and don't mind to drive, my XJ gets better mileage than anything else in the driveway.

this is true. for the last few months they had kinda like a 4 wheel dirve night on thursdays. noting special, but a lot of 4 wheel drive show up at that hooters by cowboys on thursdays. dont know if thats still happenin.

Honestly, for a non-trail ride, I would prefer during the week. It seems less hectic then. If it's on a Saturday or something, people have to plan around it. At least if it's during the week, as long as it's in the evening most people can probably come by.

Throwing dates out...how about next week, either the 6th or 7th, or the following week, either the 13th or 14th? Those are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The next week is Thanksgiving week so that is probably not a good one.

I can't remember what all is up in that area so anybody from the Kennesaw area have any ideas on where to meet?

About 25 miles, but the Aquarium is well worth it. Get there early, because if it is busy, you will have to wait a couple hours to get in.

So, do they sell admission tickets by time of day? So as to control the flow of folks through? If so, I'll try to buy our tickets ahead, and get a reasonable time. I think AAA presells admisions tickets to places like that.

Yup...it's about 1/4 mile down the street. It goes GA Dome, CNN Center, Olympic Park, GA Aquarium. There will be TONS of people in that whole area.

i would love to ride but i have not met many SEC members and peeps - so either a small ride or meet and greet... i live near emory university but can meet anywhere in the atl area... i guess lets decide on a day and see how that goes...

i assume a weekend is best for most?

I see an older gray XJ driving on 316 every now and then. It appears to have about a 4" lift or so....dark gray. It is usually heading from out near Dacula into L'ville in the mornings and opposite in the afternoons. The guy who drives it has a shaved head and glasses...that you?

I'd like to do a trail ride...even if it's an easy/mild one. Not sure if Beasley Knob would be good for this??? There is a place in Tiger, GA near Clayton on 441 (985 north) that has a decent amount of mild trails for a day ride. The only thing is I think there is a kind of deep river crossing at the entry. I learned of it through the Atlanta Land Rover club site. They said since we've been in a drought that the water is usually lower right now. Has anybody been there to confirm this? The pics look pretty decent other than that crossing.

A club I was in in Greenville, SC (TNT) has been there a time or two. I was never able to go. From what I've heard, it's private property. And the last I heard it was "closed". Don't know 100% though. If we were to do an Atlanta area M&G, I would want it to be somewhere 100% legit.

I know it's still open...the Land Rover guys went there I think last weekend. They apparently go about 1 every month or so. I do remember them saying it's private...I know with there type, they wouldn't go if it wasn't legit.

Ok, I just checked and it's legit. It's a bunch of old logging roads with alot of v-ditches and some water crossings. One of the trails goes back to Stonewall Falls....its some waterfall. The area is used by alot of mountain bikers.

Sure...the 12th actually works great for me...I was planning on going camping/wheeling in NC but I don't think that will work out now.
