E-brake button

My brother has a '97 that has a busted e-brake button. The dealer only sells it as the complete e-brake handle and at a great cost. What years will fit or is it just '97 and up?

Couple of approaches, mine broke, had the dealer fix it, cost I seem to remember was about $60 after I got done getting pissed off that it broke :D
I kept the old one, took a chunk of aluminum and started filing till I got the same shape and size of the stock one, then drilled a big hole, filled it with epoxy and stuck it in. Now I have a spare. That shaft in there is not threaded even though it looks like it, it's just concentric rings NOT threads...
