E-Brake Lever At The Backing Plate

Hey, did a search and didn't find a thread addressing it. I am in the process of swapping my D-35 out for an XJ D44, and I'm down to fine-tuning the details. The XJ D44 has no hardware, so I ordered a hardware kit for it. Will the old e-brake cable metal levers that actuates the drums from my D 35 work in the D44"? I know the drums are different sizes, but I still have my D35 out back and I'd like to know before crawling around out there in the mud to take the parts off. How about the star wheel adjuster, will it work as well?

Does anyone know the answer to this? I'm about to go scour the local wrecking yards tp find the e-brake actuator levers, NAPA says they don't have a listing for them.
