Need values for sending units

I'm looking for the resistance values for the oil pressure, coolant, and fuel level sensors. I'd like what the high and low ends of a normal reading are. I don't care if the values are at the gauge cluster, or at the sending unit itself.

I need them for the '87-'90 4.0L motors and the '91-'96 4.0L motors.

I've done a mess of searching on here the last two hours, and still can't find what I need.

I would imagine this information would be in a service manual to diagnose if the senders are going bad or not. However, Haynes and Chiltons manuals don't want to give up these secrets, if they even contain them. Also, not in the factory Jeep Renix injection manual that I can find.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Found '93!!!

GAUGE TESTING
Compare resistance values of malfunctioning gauge to
specifications. See OIL PRESSURE GAUGE RESISTANCE, FUEL GAUGE
RESISTANCE and TEMPERATURE GAUGE RESISTANCE tables.
OIL PRESSURE GAUGE RESISTANCE TABLE

Oil Pressure (psi) Ohms
0 ...................................................... 1
40 .................................................... 46
80 .................................................... 87

FUEL GAUGE RESISTANCE TABLE

Application Ohms
Empty ................................................ 105
1/2 Full .............................................. 33
Full ................................................... 5

TEMPERATURE GAUGE RESISTANCE TABLE

Application & Test Temperature Ohms
100 F (38 C) ...................................... 1365.0
220 F (104 C) ....................................... 93.5
260 F (127 C) ....................................... 55.1

Here are the guage calibration specifications for a 96 XJ from Chrysler's Dealer Connect, this is in reference to the cluster readings . . .

Fuel Gauge Calibration
Pointer Position ...................Resistance
Empty Graduation(+0° / -4°) ....105 ohms
Full Graduation(+6° / -0°) .........5 ohms
1/2 Graduation(±3.5°) ..............33 ohms

Oil Pressure Gauge Calibration
Pointer Position .................Resistance
0 psi Graduation(±2°) ..........1 ohm
40 psi Graduation(±3.5°) ......46 ohms
80 psi Graduation(±3°) .........87 ohms

Temperature Gauge Calibration
Pointer Position ...............Resistance
100°F Graduation(±3.5°) ...1365 ohms
220°F Graduation(±2.5°) ....93.5 ohms
260°F Graduation(±2.5°) ....55.1 ohms

Here also is a chart for the Coolant temperature Sensor (also valid for the intake air temp sensor) for the proper resistance values for the actual temperature of the sensor

Sorry it is so big

sorry they don't have data for anything older than 1992 on the computer, I can try to find an old service manual up in the "archives" (read old dusty books in the parts room attic) on monday

So we found that '93 and '96 are even the same.

For some reason I was thinking the '96 was going to be different.

Yeah, tatoo, if you could find that same info for an '89 (or any of that Renix era) it'd be appreciated.

Thanks.

sorry over2land, I checked through everything upstairs, nothing for an XJ earlier than 91

lots of random stuff from the 80's though, for the Ram Raider, Conquest, diag manuals for 4 cyl turbos and other really random stuff, but no renix cherokee.
I'll poke around elsewhere at work though, i still think I've seen something for renix diag somewhere.
