XJ Sightings

I'll start. Yesterday, 10/11/07, on the 99 freeway in the City of Fowler (right before the Clovis Ave. off ramp) there was a pre-97 4 door XJ lifted pulled over on the center pull out lane. I didn't have time to stop (job interview). Was painted Black in primer and lifted 4.5"+. I've also been trying to get some guys I see on the streets join the site and out chapter... but no dice from what I can see.

Yeah there's some guys out here in Fresno that hang with the TJ guys or other lifted trucks who have to much of a big head. I've had a white xj lifted 4.5" blow me off and walk away from me while getting gas.

I think I met that dude in Stockton. NOt really but the same thing happened to me at a gas station up here.

I donno, but I'm gonna start chasing them down and asking them to join the board. They're starting to act like TJ guys though. This lady in a 4 door light blue 97+ with about 3.5" (out by reedley) cut me off and didnt give a damn.

Kevin over at 4WP on blackstone have a 93 green with 4" and he's a pretty cool guy, just an employee though, not a big enthusiast though.

If any of you guys get a free chance, try to get one of those guys to come out and hang out with us at the next meet and greet. of course ask them to join the site...

to many yotas around here. Once things start slowing down around here you should come over to a Four Wheel Drive Club of Fresno meeting with me. A lot of guys in my club have been wheeling for 60 years. A lot of good stories about the local trails to be told, and we really spend a lot of time and money on the shaver trails.

That would be mine! Just got it a week or so ago. I've got some upgrade plans for it, but I'm going to wait until I sell my Tacoma before I spend any cash.

It's an '01 Sport with the Up Country package, about 87k on it. I'm looking at either an RE 3.5" plus some extras, DPG/RE 4", or DPG/OME. I've got a set of 5 MOABS with good MTR's already, couldn't pass 'em up for $500. That, an SYE & driveshaft, and some of AJ's rails will be enough for a little while.

Nice looking Jeep. We usually rent a cabin in Shaver Lake and do a Bald Mtn. snow run in January, you should watch out for that.

same around the San Luis Obispo area. ive seen plenty of yotas but lately lifted xj's are everywhere. im pretty sure they arent crawlers just for the Pismo dunes. i havent seen many mods on them. just look like lifts to me. noting upgraded steering or bumpers, but who knows.

I just spotted a bright blue xj in NEWARK today in front of fitness 2000/the play place for kids.

It looked like about a 4-6" lift with decent size tires (33+?) and had a NAXJA sticker or two.

I was heading to my bank in that parking lot and whe i spotted it i said "havent seen that one around yet!"

Tried to take a pic with my cell phone but i was having technical difficulties.


Also a long while back I met some guy who worked at circuit city @automall with a really done up big white xj.

I imagine that he is on here, and I'd just like to say that I did check out your jeep in the parking lot after you told me to and it was awesome!

i'm in newark/fremont also, with a 2000 XJ 5.5" lift, also blue, and an ARB bull bar with Piaa fogs.

i've gone to circuit city and seen that white set-up XJ several times.

saw a white and grey 93 or 94 xj in chico today. Looked like a 5-6 inch lift with 3 inch blocks in the rear.....ewwww..... that looked like it had seen mud recently. Couldn't stop to talk to him though.

in Newark, last night around 1030pm, saw a white, 99-01, lifted about +5" with silver wheels and maybe some 32's? circling around the asian shopping center where Goodyear Tires is. looked like you wanted to go through that mud puddled island in the middle of the parking lot. haha
