Lift question for MA

hope this is in the right section, it is a MA law question

ok i now i know the formula is wheelbase X wheel track /2200 in Massachusetts. I believe wheel base is center of hub to center hub but what exactly is wheel track? is that just the stock axle specs or does that include everything including tire? My jeep has about 4.5 inch lift with 33X13.50 tires on AR rims with alot of backspacing (not sure how much but i know they are 10" rims and the 13.5 width tires dont rub full lock) If I have my tires covered with flares any idea if this is even close to legal? I know it isn't huge but it is kinda wide but I was just curious if the width actually brought it back to being legal or close to it. What I'm pretty much asking is exactly what to measure. I haven't been driving my jeep for a while doin some repairs and it just got me thinkin if was actually legal

well from my experience, the guy doing the inspection in the garage isnt going to tie himself up with mathematical formulas.. he'll either pass you or tell you it wont pass before you come in. the math formula is what you bring to the court magistrate to fight a ticket for being too tall. i beleive the track width is measured from the outer most point where the tire contacts the roadway.

thanks, i know the place i get inspected they dont care about hieght, they just want ur tires covered and for it to be safe, i actually almost got a ticket before and was just currious for if i go to court if i have a case for it being legal, guess i'll go measure today :D

Ya I've gone to get an inspection and the guy didn't even take me in because he said my tires (which are also 33x13.5 Open Country's) were too wide) I was talking with a cop later on and he said that I need to get my tires covered because I'd be responsible for any damage that happened to another's vehicle if I kicked anything up.

ahaha don't worry lots people ask, it's sorta an inside joke for my jeep club. i swamped my jeep and it was stuck underwater for 24 hours. so at the next trail run i brought oars saying don't worry I'm prepared this time lol I ended up writing on it "When your up s*** creak,,, Bring a paddle!"

oh saddest part is when I went to the parts store some guy asked me if my jeep floats.... and i think he was serious... i reassured him i tested it with my last jeep and that it didn't
