01' XJ Limited heated seat malfunctioned

I also forgot to mention that the Driver side heated seat is no longer working. The passenger side still works. When I push the popple actuator button to activate the seat heater, all it does is blink several times and then the light turns off instead of staying on constantly. I assume there is some kind of a timer circuit for the seat heater, anybody have any suggestions on if this is something I can troubleshoot myself ? I don't have a FSM for my Jeep, just the owners manual. I do have a digital volt/ohm meter. Thanks

if it is like the zj, and i suppose it has a similar system, the heated seat element in the seat bottom is bad
