View Full Version : .Almost as hot as an oven.. I feel like a chicken

Went to the Junkyard today and picked up some MJ doors. These doors came off of my dads old 2wd comanche. I'm planning on building some half doors. Also while I was there, I picked up the "comanche" emblem for the side of my Jeep. Surprisingly they sold them to me for only 10 bucks a piece. They said If I stripped the interior off them, they were mine for that price.

On the way home I stopped and showed dad at work; It was so hot I had sweat dripping down my chin. So I decided I would go home and get something to drink. Well I made it about half way home and my bottom radiator hose blew. Wow what fun. Hitched a ride from my buddy and got the CJ, Towed the beast home.

How hot is hot? Up here in Racine it was 101 or so on Monday with a heat index of right around 110 or so. It's hot though... I like warm weather but this is just ridiculous.

I'm not even sure how hot it is... All I know is its hot enough my poor ol' MJ couldnt take the heat. Its probably atleast 96 degrees.. not sure what the heat index is.

I understand what you mean, the heat motivated me to finally get my electric fan in the jeep wired up. I do construction work and I've just been lucky enough to not have to work outside recently.

Seems about this time, last year, we were doing Sweatfest. It was 105* when I went through Missouri. I drove my junk all the way to Clayton with just the windows down.

Winter will be here soon enough ...

Plenty of bunk beds in the ice shacks. If you never had a chance to ice fish it is a great time. Could even set up some winter wheeling at McCaslin. I just might have to set up something like this.

I finished the Jeep today, only cost me $12.

If it is late enough in the season there is plenty of ice to drive on. Where I grew up they plow a race track just under a 1/4 mile on the Oconto River. We usually take a couple runs at it for fun.
