Evidently, there is a new law in the books making it illegal for gas suppliers to refill painted CO2 tanks.

I had just sold my black Powertank to Josh and he was having trouble finding anyone who would fill it. I always got my tank filled at Advanced Gas, so I sent Josh over there.

So I was wondering why I saw so many painted CO2 tanks at the Off Road Expo yesterday.

Yeah thats the problem I'm having.Mines a yellow powertank, and the people I called asked if it was aluminum and painted.I hope I didn't just buy a big yellow paper weight

I went to numerous places:
Praxxair
California Welding Supplies on 1st st in Santa Ana
some other welding supplies store on "A better way ave" in santa Ana
and others with no avail

Advanced asked no questions and the guy knew what the tank was used for and recognized it immediately. $17 for 10 lb tank

You mean he recognized it as having been brought in numerous times by that bald Asian guy?

I fill mine at a welding shop on Collins in Orange, never had a problem with the fact that it is painted.

My painted Co2 went out of date (hydro) so I just exchanged it for an aluminum one. Now its just a quick swap every time. I just have to make sure they have collared ones.
