ac compressor compatability

Im in the market for a new ac compressor. I called a local salvage yard and they did not have one for a 4.0 cherokee, or 4.0 wrangler. they told me that the compressor for a 4.0 grand cherokee, which they have, is not compatable.

im wondering if there is any credit to the grands compressor not being compatable. also it appears that the ac compressor from a 4 banger is the same for us 4.0 guys, can anyone confirm? what others are compatable with a 95 4.0L xj with the 134 refigerant?

it seems that ac compressors go quickly from the junk yards in the Arizona heat.

was 94 the first year for 134? So then 94+ would be compatible.

from what i understand the connections changed at the back of the compressor in the 97 year. so i guess im looking for a 94-96. pretty slim pickings.
