Are you sure? Remember, I got an up-close-and-personal look at that thing at the creek crossing...:repair:



While I was removing the shock with the broken mount. I remember the rocks and the ground, and I remember Andy trying to kill me with the tool box :laugh3: , but I don't remember seeing a purple diff cover on that 44.
Maybe SOMEBODY got a pic of the axle and the broken mount so we can see for sure....

Thats what happens when you try to weld some half cut spring perch that has been most likely galvanized to a clean steel housing with a mig... You can see the weld puddle up on the side to the mount, and not dig into the mount or housing... Oh yeah Im not a welder...but this I know...

Looks like some typical home fab with a buzz box welds. Hurray for Harbor Freight! :D

I wouldn't call that "not enough" penetration. I'd call that NO pen at all!!!
