Hey guys lookin at a 2000 XJ. 130000 miles auto, classic....anything to look for....and thoughts, getting it for $4000

yes make sure the head does not read 0331 for the head casting number as those heads were prone to cracking. :wow:

The crack will appear between the number 3 and 4 cylinders.

Yes, some of those castings had issues. But if you don't have a problem at 130K you will probably not get one. Most failures happened before 75K miles.
Replaced mine on the '01 at 50K. If everything is good, don't worry about the head. If it goes south now buy a reman head like anybody with a high mileage engine would. If you have the $$$ get an aluminum head from HESCO.
