Hello all,
I have a 85 Laredo auto w/ Selec-trac that I'm in the midst of getting up
and running again. Just the other day I started it, drove it to the gas
station and when I got back home was not able to get it back into park. I
also was not able to get my key out of the ignition. It'll shift and drive in all
the main gears except for park. I'm also not able to move the Transfer case
shifter at all. I've tried putting it in neutral and pushing/ pulling on it
and it just seems to flex forward and backward.
The 2-4wd switch seems to be working tho' .
I've had someone suggest:
The 904 automatic in your 4 cyl (AMC 2.5) or V6 (GM 2.8) has
probably popped it's linkage either inside the pan or something is stuck in
the linkage or (best case scenario) you need a new trans or motor mount.
Any other suggestions? Thanks!
