Steering column interchange??

Im working on a 1990 XJ, and the steering column is destroyed. someone tried steeling the rig and destoryed the column in the process. I have a column out of a 93, they look similar but not exact... anyone know what years work with what?! And if there is a tech link for it, I couldnt find it. THanks in advance!

84-94 should work fine since they are all GM. 1991< use a different lock cylinder than the older ones do and they allow you to use one key to operate all locks. Other than that there is no difference that I know of.
