To all the real Paratroopers out there, thank you.

And to every member of our Armed Forces, I salute you, and you have my deepest thanks.

Airborne!

:worship:  :patriot: Agreeded My cousin is an 1LT with jumpwings, air assult wings, and Ranger tab who's over in the big litter box right now. Thoes guys deserve all we can give them. I dont support the war, but we need to support our guys and thank each and every one of these guys. Its like some commerical a few years ago. These US soliders are getting off a plane in a US airport. Everyone there got up and applauded. We need that more in real life!

I am a blackhawk crewchief, unless my aircraft is burning or landed already, there is absolutely no F'ing way I'm jumping out of it! I'll ride it all the way to hell first!

the new kid asked his instructor "just how far can a blackhawk fly on one engine?"

instructor "all the way to the crash site, son, all the way to the crash site!"

I've got my five in, and my wings are about the last vestige of the Army that I have. I'm extremely proud of the fact that I'm not just a dirty nasty leg anymore, as small as it may seem to others, it is a big deal for me.

During the graduation for the previous class, three of the orginal platoon members spoke, and that was a real treat to hear those Heroes. I also got to meet General Schumacher that day...quite the fellow.

I went to jump school in 1988 while I was stationed at Fort Drum with the 10th Mountain Division. Going to jump school as a private is bad, going as a Sergeant is worse! It wasn't until I left Panama in September 1990 that I made it to the 82D. Unfortunately the Division was deployed to Saudi Arabia at the time. After we redeployed to Fort Bragg in April 1991 it took a few more months before we started jumping again.

Air Assault! 67t's rarely get to go to jump school unless you're in the 82nd or at Benning. Did some awesome rappelling and fast roping out of hueys, hawks and chinooks. Wish I could do a V-22!

Good luck.

Even with a weighted rope we have people blow all over the damn place.

The 100 ft rope is a little better than the 60 footer, but the rotorwash still sucks.

The craziest damn people have to be the external guys, no way I'd stand under the plane just to hook up the load. I've seen a few of those guys standing on their head unvoluntarily.

You ought to see what happens to those who neglect to ground the hook before trying to hook up the load. They get hit with a nice little bolt of lightening!

Not when you expect the dumb bitch in front of you to ground the Helo properly.

Just jumped a hawk on Monday, made # 57 for me. 8 more "hollywood" jumps for my wreath. Jumpmaster course is a peach too. Can't wait for a tilt rotor in Utah, now that we're authorized to jump them. Yeah, I've turned into a jump whore now!

600+ jumps during my 17 yrs.
But i was on a MFF (Military Free Fall) team and we would do Hop and Pops all day as long as we had a bird available to use.

The good old days......

My bro got about 30 or so jumps with the 82nd. He was a rigger. What a crappy job!

Does it count as a 'jump' if you get thrown off the plane prior to take off?

Nobody told me I couldn't bring a six pack on a jump!

:D

does it count as a successful Helo-Jump if I have to cut your ass loose from a wrapped static line? leaving you to count on your reserve?
