Sadly, I had to make a hard decision tonight before booking my flights for the Fall Fling this year. Our assigned move to Switzerland is not going as smoothly as hoped. My family would be having a hard time there with me away in Moab so I won't be able to make it after all. I've been grumpy for hours since deciding to cancel my trip and I probably owe my wife an apology.

Looking on the bright side, the flight I save in 2007 could be an extra one I could make in 2008 when my non-resident alien Jeep returns in the spring.

I will have a look for any last minute flight deals nearer the time as within a week or so all the regular economy tickets will have gone. Sadly the week of the Fall Fling clashes with the Swiss school break. I suppose I could ask my ex-wife to come and stay at our temporary apartment with Rachel and look after our kids while Rachel is at work and I'm in Moab. Nope, somehow I think that idea is just too crazy even for me.

'08's gonna be tough as hell too (bad timing) but I'll be there even if it's just for a couple days! (highly unlikely I'll be there for the dinner / raffle though :( )

Not real crowded out there in August, either :dunno: , but we had a timeshare week we had to use up before then, so we did Sedona for a week, then the southern Utah scenic route to Moab.

That, and the three weeks in Hawaii, and ten days in Puerto Vallarta for the daughter's wedding pretty much used up our vacation time for this year.

We will be there in '08.
