Hey all.
Trying to decide the best place to mount my Fire stick antenna. Any suggestions/personal experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have mine on the passanger side rear bumper (on the tire carrier), so the base is about at the bottom of the rear window. It's a 4' 'stick and and I have no problems talking to anyone on the trail. I'm in VA, so there really isn't any real use other than on the trail seeing as no one seems to use cb's anywhere else. I have a cobra 75 to compliment the 'stick as well. I've never had problems with where it's mounted. No way to rip it off and when it hits stuff, it has enough flex to bend all the way back to about roof top level and not break. I'd suggest putting it there, but that's just me. I don't like 18' of coax coiled under my feet, so i found the farthest spot away from me to mount it and it's working so far.

I just installed one of these....

It is on the drivers side of the hood using the rearmost fender bolt for starters and a few additional sheet metal screws. Very clean and fairly strong. I have a spring and a 3' antenna. Do some reading on firestick's tech site http://www.firestik.com/Tech_Docs.htm There is a lot to the location and installation of an antenna. Remember to tune your setup after you get it assembled.

Here is how I did mine. In the pic it looks like it's touching the light but it isn't.

I welded together my own mount and bolted it above the left rear tail light.
