As a lot of you know, Sept 30Th of this year has been set up as National Public Lands Day. This year the Utah 4wheel Drive assn is looking for all the 4wd clubs of Utah to stand up and make a difference in our sport.
NAXJA IC will commit to this.
Old Ward Canyon will be our target.
The Pathfinder is still up there and needs to be removed.

Also there is a lot of trash on the main skyline drive.
Guys, this is about as important as it gets. We need to make every effort we can to get a huge group out to this.
If we can get that car out of there and also do a major clean up on the main Skyline drive it would do more then words or any other action could ever do to put the IC, and also the whole 4wd community in the spotlight as a group who really does care about our environment and our Forest lands.
So start posting up now. This main post will have the names of everyone committed to helping out. Show you really care about your sport and sign up now!

Where is old ward canyon located??? It will make a great warm up for Fall Fling. I will most likely be there unless work gets in the way, again. It is a great cause anyway.

Been on the phone today with some land use guys from U4. Sounds like another 4WD club...TTORA??? Wants to help out. I think they are a Toyota group which means they should have some extra truck beds.

I am thinking about doing a quick run up there maybe this weekend? Anybody else?
Also what about trash bags, etc. Do we need to bring anything like that? Is the plan still to maybe torch that pile apart?

What is the latest plan on the trashed rig removal?
I don't want to haul my torch/tanks up there if we aren't going to use them.

We will need them. I am going to try to get ahold of Chief Dept McCloud again this week and also see if we can get a Fire Dept brush truck to stand by since its kind of in a pile of weeds.
Soon as I talk to him I will post up a time to meet. I would think the parking lot below the B would be the obvious choice to meet.

Ok guys. Plans have changed just a little. I got a call from the local Rep with the Forest Service asking me if we could help him that day in that same general area. The forest service is going to be cleaning up the bottom of Deadmans Curve on Skyline drive. I told him we would be happy to help.
What he needs from us right now is a good head count. So....who is going to be there?
Basicly they need bodies to hike up the bottom of that canyon (about a 1/4 mile hike) and help clean up trash. If we still have time we will go remove the car up Old Ward Canyon also.
I will not be able to get out of work that day so Jeff Turner is going to step up and run this show on Saturday.

Unfortunately, i don't think i can make it now. Having just started a new job a couple weeks ago with a lof of new training really screwed up my "to-do list" for FF. So saturday is really my last ditch effort to get way too much stuff done for one day.

8:30 AM is the meeting time and the map link is below.
Your destination is the Skyline Drive Trailhead which is at the top of 400 N in Bountiful, just keep heading East from I-15 up 400 North and you'll wind up on Skyline Dr, take a left and you'll have a visual of the B at that point, if you can't read maps.......See ya'll there, don't forget your gloves, water and food for a day of junk haulin' fun.

Considering that the IC was supposed to be heading up this project, we made a poor showing........we all had things to do besides this today, thanks to G and Doug Jr /Sr for making the sacrifice.
I had a great time, having the raffle was cool too, thanks to the TTORA crew (Ellis for leading thecharge and Randy for providing a dumpster for the chopped Nissan) and of course the U4.
