Hey guy's I've been lurking around here for a little while and am thinking of joining. Bit of background, I have done some limited wheeling in the past with nearly stock Jeeps and Rangers. I've been competing in the GRM $200x Challenge http://www.grmotorsports.com/news/category/2006-challenge for the last 6 years and this will be my last. I'm looking for something a bit more slower paced that my family can participate in, like crawling. Last year I picked up an '89 XJ from Klodes, a Rubicon Max-Flex from Pull-N-Save, and a set of 33X12.5's BFG MT's from a friend, and started cutting.... Since then we've done Red Cone twice, a Red Feather snow run, Holy Cross, Carnage, and Spring Creek. I have the body damage to prove it! :) I've been doing most of it with the Larimer County Mountaneers(my neighbor is the VP) and have really been digging it. These guys are really cool, but there is only a couple of XJ's in the club that I know of. Like the 'Yota guy's, it would be fun to be around the same. Sooo, Hello!

Hello and welcome. Going to get out to COfest? Great times, many XJ's, one TJ last year, and the year before a Land Rover? :dunno:

Thanx guys. It doesn't look good for CoFest for me this time around. My wife has her 20 yr HS reunion on Sat., which is the only day I have off this week. Are you guys planning any other runs in the near future?

It doesn't look too likely. As of today its sitting in the shop with the steering disassembled and I dont know if he'll get done with it (hydro assist and a new Borgeson joint) in time for COfest..

Sorry Frank, but I think I qualified for that position starting October '05. I wheeled it once since then - and it was still broken for that run.
Jeez, does that mean I'm lame AND could be a bone-head too?

Ahhh - there is the truth in the statement. Since I have two of em under 4, and until next week a 2 hour commute every day, the wrenching has taken far longer than it should.... Congrats on your upcoming arrival. Bitch as I might about my lack of wheeling, I wouldn't trade them for the world (and evenually they will be big enough to enjoy the wrenching and the trails with me, which will be even better!)

You all live too close to the wheelin to appreciate it. I make sure my rig is ready for this week. Even decided that I'd not do my ACOS this week, because there was a chance (even remote) that I'd end up with things so screwed up that I couldn't go and play.
Last year I put off Gall Bladder surgery to come, just carried some pain pills incase it acted up.
Damn I wish I lived closer so that I could just take a weekend when ever I want to go wheel.
now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
