The pan came from Grant Kustoms (http://grantkustoms.com/). The pan was 129 with the platebox and 89 for the corners. The corners are a little long though and the pan itself or my tailgate will need some trimming to fit. It'll (hopefully) be going on after work tomorrow. After that I start shaving the tailgate.

It's actaully an XJ. Overall, I'm just looking to clean everything up. I love the shape/lines of the body without the bulgy flares and bumper caps. I hope to lower it one day, although a lift is just as possible (neither are very practical since there's always the risk of flooding and it's a 2wd). Front end'll get a smooth(er) bumper, possibly a 97+ conversion, and maybe a full phantom grill.
As for color I've been hooked on the Wrangler lime green since I first saw it.

In the end...all I really want to do is forcefeed it. ;)

What pan is that for? I looked on their site and didnt see any for jeep. I would really like to do this on my jeep. Since I have a hitch and dont mess with rocks rear damage isnt really a big problem. (unless its from bad drivers)

The pan's not listed on their site, nor did their phone guy know what I was talking about. Luckily, somone there did know that they make it. Unfotunately, the design is flawed since it won't fit right with the tailgate. I basically had to cut it, then pound out a 90 degree angle at the top bodyline just to clear the gate.
If anyone does plan on getting this though, I would call and mention that it wont fit without modification. (I'm not going to have time to call now as I leave for Fla tonight. But next week I'll ring them up, as I still want to see if they can fab a front bumper too.

Finally got to mounting the pan up this weekend. The backs were all undercoated and it's held on with screws until I can weld it during the week.

If you want to do something *really* cool get a 3" hole saw and put a hole in the roll pan for the exhaust. A 3" hole in the pan and a 2.50" or 2.75" tip would look nice.

Haha...funny you should mention that... Right now I'm waiting to tack part of the latch mechanism so I can pop it by remote... right now I have to climb in and do it manually... even more fun with 2 4x8 sheets of mdf in the back.

pics of your work on the latch please (when it's done). also, how in the hell are you opening it from the inside?

I'm guessing he has the interior trim panel for the hatch removed. With that off there is ample room to stick your finger inside and pull the latch over to the side releasing it.

I cut a 2 by 4 inch hole in the interior cover where I can slide the white plastic piece over to lock and unlock the door from the inside.
Seems like a good idea for anyone who might want to get out from the inside.
