I'm swapping a D44 into a 91 XJ and am putting the D35 from the 91 into the donor 89 and am just wondering what the proper procedure is to cap off/swap the brakelines is.

Do I just disconnect the hose and let it drip or what? Just want to do it the right way...

Get a gallon size zip lock bag and a rubber band, insert hose into the top, wrap tight with rubber band. Pour the fluid back in the resevoir when you're done and you don't have it dripping and landing in your face at an inconvenient moment. Brake fluid will eat plastic though, so work fast!

dont pour it back in :twak: brake fluid is hygroscopic (it absorbs moisture) when its exposed to air it actually pulls water out of the air into itsself. any time you disconnect a brake line re bleed ALL lines, and use clean fluid to refill.

if its eating the plastic its pulling molecules of that plastic into the fluid. remind to not drive in front of you :D

its also a good idea to not use fluid that has been in an opened container. if its a get home or stranded situation mayb, but still not a good idea.
