The Rubicon Trail is now a County Road in both El Dorado and Placer Counties. The Forest Service does not have the authority to close the Rubicon. The Rubicon is open.
The Rubicon Trail Foundation worked with Ted Gaines and Amy Green of Placer County this past fall to get the trail declared a County Road. If this had not happened, the Rubicon would be closed right now in the Tahoe National Forest.
When you ask what has RTF done for me? We kept the Rubicon from being closed by the FS.
Please take the time to send in your comments on the proposed Route Designation plan by the FS.
