Well i know i need a new clutch soon but here recently i have been getting horrible vibrations from the tranny. It only happens if the motor is tached up a little (2500 rpm) and i let off the gas; my steering wheel starts to shake and i can feel vibrations through the floor, but as soon a i put in the clutch or get back on the gas it dissapears. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be?

Get under it and start looking for bad universals and broken mounts, check the mount that is on the cross member under the transfer case, they do go.

Make sure you replace the pilot bearing when you do the clutch. Give the input shaft on the tranny a good push side-side and make sure there is no play (which would be a bad input bearing and a good candidate for your vibs).

One other thing, make sure all the bellhousing bolts and such are tight.
