issue after rear main repair

Well I just replaced the rear main on my daughters 92xj. I also replaced the oil pump. So my question is there a reason why my oil pressure is almost pegeg out? It normally was just a little over half under load and about half at idle. TIA

How many miles on the engine when you replaced the pump?

I would test the pressure with a mechanical service guage before trusting the guage in the pannel.

It has 160k on it. I just replaced it last weekend. I also do not see any oil at this time leaking. I guess I will try and find someone to test the pressure.

sounds like it could be a sending unit issue.
