While stuck in traffic on I-66 (west of DC) feeling like a turd in a punch bowl driving my XJ (dents from Rubicon, armored, hi-lift & rock stinger on back) a fellow in a lifted CJ (dents, hi-lift, winch, bumpers etc) got stuck next to me. Not an XJ but as close to brotherhood as either of us had seen on the commute. We talked trails and blocked traffic (especially Mercedes) with glee.

He bragged about the Taskers Gap trail in the George Washington National forest. Searched but found nothing on NAXJA. Anyone have experience with this trail?

He might have been confused about the name-Peters Mill trail runs the mountain top from Edinburg,Va. north to Woodstock,Va.It is a very nice dirt road in the mountain. It was (before the bulldozer) a rocky rough trail,NOT a hard core trail but interesting.
Taskers Gap is an ATV trail it is lower on the mountain and has more mud.
Both of these are almost in my back yard.

53 Guy,

Navy puts us up for 60 days while we hunt for a place to live. My "office" is over in Maryland at the David Taylor Model Basin (West Bethesda). McLean is close, very close. Found a reasonable rental inside the beltway but we dont move in until mid August. If I gave the impression we had a place to live lined up I for when we got here I erred. I met the fellow in the CJ while driving out to my storage unit in Gainsville (all my shop stuff and machine tools are stored there). Cant wait to get it all move in and get back to building toys.

I found my Rambler and my XJ hanging out with a bunch of Pacers and Gremlins. Photos will follow soon.
