Recently the xj died on me likely b/c of zero battery left BUT Ive been also having rough idle...but it is always low. it never really revs high when it acts weird.

Can a dirty tb cause rough low idle?
Also, I took it in for a check b/c the thing was azcting quirky and tyhey said that the #2 cylinder had a few misfires...is there any relation to a dirty tb and the misfires?
thx

I dont think u can get misfires from TB, it will idle rough or irratic.
for misfires check thr cap, rotor, plugs, wires.

if u do clean the TB remoce the IAC and TPS, so u can clean it really good, at same time clean IAC.

TB cleaned and new battery yet still same low idle and minor 'shakes' usually right after startup but it can still be felt to a lesser extent at stoplights....

What else could it be?
TB cleaned.
New plugs last year.
New battery last week
What about fuel injectors?
thx

u would feel injector problems at higher RPM.
have u thought about just setting up the idle?
to set up the idle u will need an Allenkey ( forget what size but pretty small)
