Lets get this going:
Azusa Get Together/run on Sunday August 20th....
We will meet at 10:30 am ( a little earlier this time) at the Jack in the Box off Azusa@210 FWY
Sunday August 20th, 2006
Depart at 11am (to get a better spot to set up and have a yummy BBQ)

I will provide the BBQ, (meat, chicken) but will need a accurate count
Other will need to bring the cold drinks

It's a ways off, but I'll say I'm in. But only if I can get that manifold swapped, and that 8.25 in. My 35 can't take much more abuse....

FYI: As to the BBQ, I actually read the paperwork they give us when we go in. Charcoal is a no go, but any bottled gas stove is good to cook on there.

I am in......that is if the knocking noise in the rear of my XJ is a U-joint. Or if it isn't but I can get a 8.8 in there by then :roll:

Tony, in order to fix my junk I have to cut a hole in the frame to try and get that shackle bolt out. I'm doing baja testing all this week, so even if I did try and fix it, I'd need a welder and some suckers, I mean volunteers....

I'm interested as I have the new XJ (bone stock)- will I be able to do any of the trails or is strictly for lifted rigs? I could make some potato salad (I am from S.C., so I know what it's about)- my wife will be out of town for that weekend, so just curious.

It's quite a drive from where I am, but it might be worth it for something to do.

I now have to decline on this trip- I got my tranny cooler in for the Jeep and I have a long trip to OR next week to go pick up a friend's Harley. I can't speak for everyone but I would think it doesn't matter what he drives...he's your brother.

Just wondering are there any trails up there or is it just that one OHV area? I believe there are because i went camping up there once and in the middle of the night some H2 hummer drove right by us out of nowhere! Next morning found a trail that went pretty deep in. It was gated from the paved road though but i don't see how there could be any private land in that area. didn't look like a ranger or anything like that either. Anyways im gonna try to make it out there tomorrow.

anybody by chance have a powertank or a way to run air tools tomorrow? I just got my new C4x4 bumper put on, but I can't quite tighten up the bolts because they're hard to reach. IF anyone has a 3/8" ratchet I can have them tightened in about dos minutos. Thanks

Good time out there fellas. I was the late show with the Chilli Pepper Red XJ. Been a while since I have been with the group and did not recognize anyone, but fun none the less. Tried not to get the XJ muddy but got temporarily immobolized on the way out and threw mud every where so said what the heck and went for it in the slip and slid area. Good times and a squeeling U joint all the way home. Hope to get out more now that I remember why I love my XJ

Well, sounds like I will have some repair work to do when I get back into town... By the time I got to the airport this morning the Jeep was squealing like a stuck pig.

We were at periscope depth for most of the trip....
