I'm looking for a cheap source for an np231 rebuild kit. Mine has howled like a beagle in low range for a long time, and now the chain just pop's and doesnt bother to try and engage. JB Conversions sells the rebuild kit for 150+, I'm looking for a cheaper source.

Anyone have a line?

I have a 207 I'm going to pull the gears out of, and I have a 6 rollar planetary. I can source a new chain easy enough, but I'd like to get all of the bearings and seals.

No, its a problem with your shift linkages. There is a pivot point that screws to the unibody that comes loose sometimes (needs new screws) and some rubber bushings in the shift linkage that sometimes need replacing (a few bucks at the dealer).

I hope thats all it is... If i hold it in 4lo it works some but if i put any stress on it it pops really loud and goes no more...

Novak conversions makes a kit to move the tcase linkage mount to the tcase itself instead of the body of the vehicle....

Kinda pricey but supposedly an improvement.

That looks pretty cool, has anyone actually installed and used one?

I have one sitting in a box in my garage. I need to install it as the Tcase has some significant issues with handle moving through the pattern cleanly...
