YELLOW AMC BOX under dash?

I was getting out of my jeep today and i saw a yellow box hanging from under my dash. does anyone know what this is for. I own a 1987 Jeep Wagoneer laredo (xj) On the box it says amc on the front and it has a few slots for adjustments. it reads

Cruise control.

Thats actually what my first guess was but i didnt get what the centering adj is for

Yep, it's for Cruise Control... just DO NOT touch any of the settings or else the next time you put it in cruise you might end up going for a wild ride.
