Limiting straps for a 4 link

Building a 01 TJ for a friend, the lift is 12", long arm front and 4 link long arm in the rear. 38's and using 24" shocks. The rear will droop alot more :D in fact I needed to raise the lift 4ft before the unshocked tires started coming off the ground. I want to put limiting straps on it, keep in mind this is a TJ so it's got a frame. Problem is I never did one this tall before and never ventured into the land of limiting straps so I've got nothing. I'm also pulling my hair out trying to find a 36" long stainless steel flex line for the rear brakes or I'm going to end up with a rather interesting combination of hard brake line and a couple of short 'flexable' lines running up one of the long arms.:anon:

Limiting straps are pretty straight forward. The easiest way to mount them is to the eye of the shock using the same hardware you use to mount the shock. Make sure to order straps that are about an inch or less then the lenght of the shock, they will strech.

As for a stainless still line, you could use this.

And then use these to adapt the an fitting to your 3/16 hard line

And then use these to mount them to the frame

I did something similar when I built my front d44.

that thing is gonna be tipsy i got a tj with a 2" lift and 32/11.5R15s and i get a little scared of it tipping i cant imagine 12 " lift with 38's

12" lift on a TJ? For 38's? Oof...

Anyway, for the brake lines, nothing wrong with running them down the links. Or drop a shorter soft line down on top of the truss for the 4-link and run it out to the wheels.

Yea, reminds me to take those p215's out of the shed up so we can get it out of the garage. The top of the full door is about a foot over my head and it's been a real PIA putting the ARB switches in, climbing in and out.
