Go to google and check out Mallett Performance... Somewhere in NY or something. Take a Sky, drop in a LS2 and 6-Speed... All for under 40k and run mid 12's

A stock LS1 camaro with some good tires runs mid 12's ?
For 30k total when it was new.

Ranks right up there with Miata and the TT coupe in terms of poop dick-osity.

I prefer the Solstice, more retro looking, well balanced design cues.
Apparently a lot of auto-x guys are dropping Miatas to run these cars (or so I've heard).

My wife wanted a new car a when those were coming out. When we had driven everything else, we decided to place an order for a solstice, but ended up finding something else.
A few months later, I drove a friends and I couldn't be happier with the decision to go another direction. Gutless, no balls, shitty interior, no trunk...I can go on and on.
Maybe the GXP though.

I drove a Solstice in Vegas last year, fun little car!
I personally prefer the Mazda MX-5 (Miata). The girlfriend's dad has one, I got to borrow it last time I was in Az... the shifter is much better than the one in the Solstice, and it corners a bit better.

Friend of mine has one. The interior is super small. No room to move the seat back.
And it was an automatic :ghey:
I want a mini S or a Evo if/when I get a car. Now I just have to find the money for the insurance and car. :dunno:

we have sold 2 of these here at the dealership. both of the guys that bought them are in a solstice club. when they do the meetings, these guys ship there luggage to the hotels they will be staying at because there is no room whatsoever in the car.

I thought you were going to say something about the Solstice club members "packing suitcases" in a way that just isn't fit for a family-friendly board! Not that Solstice doesn't seem kinda GAY or anything, I just wouldn't be caught dead at a 'club meeting'.

Yes, time to come clean. The solstice is gay and I don't even want one.
Whew, that feels better, thanks. :D

I went to test drive one when I was looking for a daily driver last Feb. The Pontiac dealer refused to let me until a purchase agreement was drawn up, and they wanted a 10k mark up over sticker. 32k for one! I laughed and told him for 32k I'd be getting a Honda S2000. The guy says "yeah, I would too."

The tunk space was next to non-existant. I was able to put my notebook computer case back there, but just barely.
However, for someone who has never driven a 2-seater before - it was fun.
Makes me want to also try out a vette.
It was fun to feel the wind in my hair.......
what little I have left!:laugh3:

How does it wheel?:dunno:
remember, I'm comparing it to what I drive - an XJ, a WJ, and a Cadillac DTS.
Compared to those, it stuck to the road like a bug on flypaper.
It cornered very well.
It got great gas mileage! (5-speed)
and was very powerful - I've heard that the non-turbo version is lacking.
(My wife was driving it one day and a little Miata tried to race her.
She toasted them, and then screamed "YEEEES!" I smiledhttp://www.websmileys.com/sm/happy/1053.gif)
the bad:
* Very-Very little trunk space.
* I'm 6'1". The seat did not go back far enough.
* And although the steering wheel could be adjusted up and down, I found my legs slightly cramped with the wheel all the way up.
I have not driven any other 2-seater, so I have nothing else to base my comparison on. Overall it was fun to use it for the week - considering that all I had to pay for was gas.

Honda S2000.
Now that was a fun test drive. Only beef I had was the Honda dealership wouldn't let my wife and I take it alone. They let me drive it, but the sales rep had to ride with. So I took it out on the car.
