Looking forward to getting out with a group. But I should probably get something better than 225/75-15 All-Season budget tires first. They do well enough, but some 235/75-15 ATs are first on my list.

So far, we have 16 folks (18, if you count Jeeps) in the region. It looks like our primary population densities are around the DFW and Houston area. If you want a "close to central" meeting place, then Waco is the closest thing to it, but there's no actual members, there. :)

Kendrik
June 12th, 2007, 12:38
Waco is easy enough for me, although where is there to wheel around there? there is Long Ranch in Llano?

Well, I was thinking for non-wheeling meetups, but yeah...that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense, would it. :) That said, it looks like Shiloh Ridge (http://www.shilohridge.com) might be a reasonably central location for everyone.

The formation of this new chapter should give a few more people a reason to join.

Doh. I knew that. Then we have 10 posting members, or 12 if the wives are also members. So, we're short 3 - 5 folks for Chapter formation. If only some folks were willing to sign up... :wave1:

your red if you are a paying member. also your forum name is in red.
Then something is wrong here as I paid my dues 8 to 12 weeks ago, my package showed up in the mail about 4 weeks ago, but my name, and I think everyone elses name including yours is showing up as blue in this forum on my browser. I am using Firefox V-1.5.0.12 , could this be a browser issue?

Never mind, I just checked EI, which I almost never use, the members are red in the IE browser. In the Firefox browser everyone is blue, members and (none member) forum users. Must be web site code issue!

You may be using a different firefox version than I am, or you have settings other than default (mine were set on default). I just set my options to allow the website to pick the colors (instead of using browser default colors) and the red colors are now showing up.

Cool, now I know who to talk into paying dues and becoming REAL members!:roflmao::D

I guess Im the only sole way down here in Pharr Texas. Its about 60 miles west of Brownsville right on the river/border. Thanks Ecomike for the heads up. I usually skip right to the original or modified forums since, until now, there was no Tx/La chapter.

Well, when you installed google earth, it should have automagically associated the kmz files. So, you should just be able to hit the download link and pick "Open". Google Earth should fire up with everything in place. Otherwise, if you downloaded the link, you should be able to do a "File->Open" in Google Earth and pick the kmz file.

I think it's XP/2000 only. Seriously, though...Win98? Time for an upgrade, man! Leave off the Detroit and get a new PC instead! ;)
No good reason to go to 2000. I have over $10,000 in professional software that Bill Gates wants me to throw away :rattle:just to upgrade to XP. Thanks, But No thanks, Bill! I'd rather fund my own philanthropic (AD)ventures some day.

XP makes the Old Microsoft bloatware (Win 98) look like a lean, mean, trim operating system.

The only reason I would even consider XP would be if I was using my Pcs for video, which I am not. Or if some EPA mandated software came out that I had to use, that required an upgrade. So far I have been lucky in that department. In some ways it is getting the point where I am becoming one of the few remaining Win98 Tech Experts left around.

I still have Win 3.11 on my custom GC lab data aquisition computer at my shop. (GC = Gas chromatograph).

Actualy I still have my first XT clone (1990), with that huge 20 MB hard drive, and my fathers patented 1963 Talamatic computer, which I am saving for the Smithsonian (its the only one left in existance that I know of). I also have a SW Tech 1980 computer of my fathers in storage. He used assembly language on it to write his code. He was a real hard core programer, even used Cobal.

Anyway, my XJs (85 and 87) and my Ford, (73) are still way older than my 98 Wins operating system! LOL.:D And none of them are as old as I am!:laugh2:

Oh, almost forgot, my favorite, most used computer (the one I am on now) is still just a Compaq 166 mhz pentium 1 laptop! I have 10 of them. I do have several newer faster computers, but this one still runs I everthing I need and use, and it runs as fast as I can move, type and read.

If you feel like discussing where someone is from this was the place those posts ended up.

We were really trying to keep a clean thread with nothing but people posting their locations.

IF you have never posted your location in the original "what's your 20" thread please check to see if i moved your post there. If I haven't yet you may post there. Please help make Kendriks life a little easier and save the "Oh really, I grew up near there" comments for this thread or for Personal messages.
