Hi guys, I recently had an opportunity to trade my stock airbox straight up for a Rusty's intake with the K&N cone filter. I jumped on the deal and now I've got a shiny new intake on my Jeep.

Anyways I'm planning on going wheeling on Sunday and I don't want there to be any issues with water since this intake is much more exposed then the stock airbox. I was thinking of making a shield for it somehow to allow it to suck air from up by the hood and block any spray that could come from below... any ideas on how to go about this?

if you put in a vent over the filter in the hood youll have to worry about rain water gettin in there. if youre that worried about it get a snorkel.

I'm not planning on cutting the hood at all... I don't have vents and I don't really want vents.

I just want to protect the filter (and in essence, my engine) from water being sprayed up from underneath when I'm wheeling. Like a shroud around the bottom half of the filter or something...

use some tin flashing material from your local home improvement store
