is a 91' 4.0L a direct swap for an 86' v6 ? parts store's were'nt sure, jeep dealer said "part #'s may have changed, and we would recomend bringing it in for our mechanics to service." Thanks a lot buddy! anyone swap boxes? what works what wont? thanks Jim.

Jeep Dealers can't look up parts for 86 or older Jeeps unless they have the physical catalog.

not too sure about the other dealers, but we can do computer lookups back to '84 without the books. a while back when we remodeled here some numnuts threw out ALL the old catalogs. yep....THREW them out!??

by the way, although the original numbers were different, the replacement rebuilt PS box is now the same # for '86 and '91. you should be fine.
