trans/t case swap

(first post hope im doing this right) i was out playing around and broke the t case in my 89 xj i bought a 94 xj to use the case out of it. I then found out that it has 23 splines rather than the 21 spline, so i was wondering if i could use the trans and t case out of the 94 would they bolt up to the 89 block,lines?

Yes, you can use the 94's trans and transfer. You'll need to swap the speedo pickup and gear as the 94 is electrical and your 89 is mechanical.

I did the opposite using a 88 trans/transfer in a 94 when converting to 4WD.
