Yes, quite a bit of people have trimmed their lower quarters, and there are many write-ups on the subject.

Here is a side view of my rig. I cut the quarters and put in 40 inch wheel tubs. I have plenty of rock and tire clearance.http://i10.tinypic.com/62zcjn7.jpg

Why did you put the tubs so far back? Are you planning on flipping the springs?

I am going to 4 link and extend the wheel base. I know it looks a little funny right now.

the extra room looks like it'll be great for stuffing the tires when ya go 4 link.
