over here in Tampa with the wife and daughter visiting her g-ma/great g-pa, if I have to go to another theme park I will die, not to mention the excessive heat, humidity, no XJ, 3-hour time difference(it is 9:51 pm and 90*, feels like 99% humidity), got way too much work to do on my heeps but family first.
Anyways, I love Cali, I guess it took a trip to Tampa to remind me just how much. Anheiser Busch country and I HATE budweiser, Not to mention flying with a hyper 1-yo is...interesting, especially when the flight is packed tight. On a positive note Busch Gardens has free beer(bud though), so I managed to choke a few down, haven't been on a roller coaster in probably 10-years, they are pretty awesome these days. I have never seen such flat land, not a rock or hill to be seen, flew over Texas and the same deal, although it is very green, lots of mosquitoes, flat as a fritter. This is my first time east of Nevada, besides some spots in Mex and I guess Aus, oh well, I can't wait to get back on the 27th.
oh well, rant over.
Cheers and enjoy Cali for me

I feel your pain, I lived in Miami a few years ago...not Tampa, but the heat and humidity were almost unbearable. You get used to it living there, but damn, being back in Cali you definitely appreciate the weather here!

See if you can get a swamp buggy ride.
I can vouch for that! If you want a thrill find some redneck to take you into the swamp on an airboat. :D

oh boy, only one day left, no time for a swamp ride but wish I would have thought of that a few days ago. Some strange tropical thunderstorms, some cool lightening/thunder, tomorrow going souvenir shopping for the family back at home, then packing up or the ride home, YIIPPPPEEEEEE. All in all a good trip for the family, My daughter Serena had a chance to meet what is left of her mom's family, spent some really good time with them, they are great people. Anyways be back in action soon, cheers all.

Have a good trip home. Are you gonna make the gear clinic?

Thanks John, sounds like a really valuable time but not going to make it, I am not really set-up to do gear work yet, got way too many things to do, hopefully one of my partners will take the reins on that, my local shop charges $150 bench fee which is more than worth it for me in time saved, less things to worry about. One day once the car is done I should have time to get into that, it is on my list though. Appreciate your offer, a very nice gesture and should be very valuable, maybe next time if there is one.
Are you doing Dana axles? I really want to be able to set up my 9" gears, probably the same basic procedure for either except the case spreader for dana. On a side note, does a heavily trussed/tubes welded assembly require a different procedure for bearing pre-load, case spreading? Seems like the flex needed would be hindered with welding the tubes/ trussing, although I really haven't gotten into either procedure yet so maybe this is all nonsense, just going from those two holes in the dana centersection for the case spreader and how I imagine it works, haven't seen it done in person yet. Thanks a bunch

I've done dana 30/44's , C8.25's and 8.8's. The 9 inch is the same basic proceedure but is quite easy due to the center section being removed. A trussed axle would set up the same way as non trussed except that it may require a case spreader depending on how the axle warped or changed during welding. The carrier should be removed during welding to prevent the carrier from being pinched into the housing. I hope to truss up my D30 as soon as I can, maybe you would share some of your ideas on that .:D
