A friend of mine is looking to purchase a full size Chief anywhere from 1970-88 but prefers the 2 door chiefs. Must be widetrack/fullwidth , 360 or 401, 4wd in decent condish.

Let me know if you guys see any local listings that are not on craigslist or ebay...

my neighbor has one he has been trying to sell, new 360 and looks like new spring packs, 35's, in really good shape, sounds great, he is a master fabricator/motor guy so it is probably gone through very well. Let me know if your buddy is willing to travel to Ventura if he is interested, he may be able to get a hold of the guy if he wants to talk about it, Matt(owner of Noble Fabrication on Mcfarlane st, Ventura, CA, 93001) sorry just left the shop and I won't be back over there until the 28th, going to Florida. I would be able to get a phone number via a co-worker if he is interested and can't find contact info, I believe he wanted in the $4k range but not sure.

He just hit me up the other day as he needs coin for vet bills, would be a great time if you are interested, it is orangish red, 2 door, d44s front and rear, I have been tempted but need a diesel tow rig for my application. Good luck

That sounds pretty good. My buddy has been looking at rigs as far as UT and CO for the perfect one so Ventura wont be a big deal. I'll pass along the info and let me know if you get any more contact info. Gracias!

haha. Well I'd love to have one myself. I've been wanting one since high school but my interest was resparked when I was in Moab and saw a bitchin 4 dr with 37s (maybe bigger) that was a schaaaweeet rig. At this moment, I still have to wait further down the road before I look at another seriously.

Heh, you're a few months late, I sold mine last August, 83 Wide Track Laredo, unfortunatley a 258/Automatic, but I let it go for $750...

There are alot of variables in that range.
Sounds like he wants a two door cherokee. Chief is just a package, just like "laredo", or "limited". Two door models were offered from 74-83. Four doors were never offered "widetrack". 401 only offered (factory) until '78. 74-79 either have a t400/qtrack, or a t-18/d20. 80-83 are 258 or 360 with 727/np208-219-229 or t-176/208.

Sounds like Rudd's old cherokee. Ive only seen one like that around these parts. Did he buy it from him, or is this another one ?

If he is stuck on a 2 door, they do show up from time to time. If he would take a 4 door, there are plenty to choose from. Best bet is to find an 87-91. They have power everything, d44 front and rear, 727/229, and can be found for $1000.

There is one sitting down the street from me with a for sale sign on it. I thought about posting up when it appeared last week but didn't figure anyone on here would be interested. I'll stop by tonight and see what I can learn about it.

If his heart is set on it then great, but $7500 is alot of money for that...
It will also have a hard time passing smog here with that intake and carb.

I would take a look at the one in Ventura. If it was Rudd's, its nice.
Probably nice even if it was'nt. Its closer and a whole lot cheaper...
