"no bus" ?

Hi... Today while driving, the speedometer and RPM gauges on my 2000 XJ stopped working for about 10 seconds. The odometer turned off than said "no bus" and the check engine light went on. Everything came back to normal within 10 to 15 seconds and it hasn't happened again... What's going on ? Thanks.

Check the wiring harness below the steering wheel under the dash. And if that is the not the problem check the connections on the back of the insturment cluster. Hope this helps.

My 2000 did that too, right before the battery went out.

JayVT....Bingo. After a couple of days of slow-cranking starts, had to replace the battery. Hope that does it.
