Hot start issues

I think this should be in modified tech...

I built a stroker a while back and whenever I try to restart it after a good 20 minutes of driving it stalls out the starter. I usually have to either restart it within 5 minutes, or after 15, or else the starter cranks once and then stalls out.

The motor is running about 9.4:1 compression, so I wouldn't think thats too much for the starter. The starter is an AutoZone replacement one that is about 2 years old, it worked fine with the old motor, any ideas what would cause this? And what I can do to fix it?

That starter might just be the case. Your trying to make it work alot harder then it was made to do. Then when you add heat to it... well. With that amount of compression I would look into a high TQ starter. I have had good luck with Mean Green.
